NIU Shooting Leaves 6 Dead and Many Wounded

DeKalb, Ill- Northern Illinois University (NIU) was victim of a tragic shooting Thursday afternoon by alumni Steven Kazmierczak.
Kazmierczak, 27, began opening fire in Cole Hall where graduate student Joseph Peterson was teaching a class. Six people were killed, including Kazmierczak, who died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Sixteen people were wounded.
Kazmierczak emerged from behind a curtain in the lecture hall dressed in all black, and began shooting with a shotgun, and later three handguns.
The six confirmed deaths are Daniel Parmenter, 20, Catalina Garcia,20, Julianna Gehand,32, Ryanne Mace,19, and Gale Dubowski,20.
