She's So Vain

defending her body and crying as
people applauded her "bravery";
You're so courageous because
you cried on national television in
your bathing suit and told people
to kiss your big butt; that's the
sort of thing that DEFINITELY
deserves applause! The point is:
if she didn't care about the superficial,
she wouldn't have lost 30
lbs., dedicate an entire show to
her body and the photos.
In October 2007, Banks was
on the Today show discussing
her interview with Barack Obama
and instead of talking about what
he brings to the table as a presidential
candidate, she talked
about...DING DING DING! Herself.
"I was shaking like a leaf...
I was SO nervous! As soon as
he walked out, I was like
'Feel my hand. Feel
my hand'...
I have a
very sensitive stomach. After the
interview, my stomach started
burning. I had to take tums and
eat bread...Just a couple of years
ago I was walking down a runway...
That's the great thing about
my show."
The sad truth is that she belongs
on television; Tyra Banks is
nothing more than a 34-year-old,
retired model who knows that TV
is where she can talk about herself
and her body image all day and
get away with it. "I know I work
in an industry that feeds America's
obsession with skinny and
that's why I feel it's important to
do my part in redirecting the focus
on what society traditionally
upholds as beautiful," she said in
a February episode of The Tyra
Banks Show. But she's feeding
into the sad standard of beauty by
having a show entirely devoted to
being skinny. Forget America's
Next Top Model, why not have
America's Next Top PLUS SIZE
Model?
Instead, Tyra has chosen to
squander fame on frivolous topics
such as vaginas, frienemies and
boobs. And when she's not talking
about those exciting subjects,
she's busy stroking her
own ego as well as
her weave.

Gorgan put it
best when she
said, "OK, we
got the point:
you were the
first black
woman to feature
on the cover
of 'Sports
Illustrated,' you
had a successful
career and
were one of the
most soughtafter
models a
couple of years
ago, you were
the epitome of black beauty, the
public is willing to give you all
that. Just stop talking about yourself
for a second!"
Congratulations Tyra, you're
still in the running towards becoming America's Next
Top Imbecile.

I AGREE! Tyra Banks needs to quit talking about herself so much, seriously. I just cringe when I see Tyra Banks on my television. It makes me want to puke up the brussel sprouts I ate for dinner. (Continued…)

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE AUTHOR OF THIS ARTICLE!!!! i have never heard anyone be so on point about what an egotistical maniac tyra banks is. The timeline was so true and i never realized when she yelled at that model on ANTM, that it was also a reflection of her ego as well. (Continued…)

Tyra Banks is rather successful talk show host, bur she should be less egocentristic.
