JK: Sleeping. I literally come in at 8 a.m. where I work all day and study. Also I have rehearsals at night and I get home 9-9:30 p.m. then I try to do some homework and fall sleep. I don't sleep long enough. Then I start the horrible circle all over again.

WT: Do your parents support your acting?

JK: Well my parents both passed away. I wasn't completely honest with them back then that I wanted to get in the theatrical art. I tried to do what they wanted, trying to take something a little bit more serious, but I kept coming back to theater. It makes me happy and I would like to think that they would be happy for me.

WT: What is Stage Wright doing to be more active and noticeable at Wright?

JK: I've been here for quite a while and I work in the box office. People tend to notice me, the face in the window as they walk by. I just try to be nice to as many people as I can. Be friendly, be out there, and remind people about the club.

WT: What do you plan on doing for the spring musical?

JK: We are going to be putting on Little Shop of Horrors. It's a comedy. They made a movie about it back in the '80s. It's basically about a man-eating plant that came from outer space, landed into this little nerdy guy's life. It helped him achieve fame and power, and all sorts of things that he felt he needed to get the interest of a woman he loved.

WT: Who are your favorite musical composers?

JK: Alan Menken is one of my favorites.

WT: What advice do you have for those pursuing acting careers?

JK: Try. Don't shoot yourself down, you only live once. You might as well try to do what makes you happy. If acting makes you happy get up there and do it! Go for it because life is literally too short to waste.

WT: How can students get involved in Stage Wright?

JK: Students can come by the box office, or they could go to the meetings. We meet at least once a month but these last weeks we have been meeting more often. You could also contact stagewright@ccc.edu. Any of you interested feel free to come.
